Loyalty migration guide You have been sent this guide because you are currently using a version of an integration between Yotpo & Dotdigital which is out of date and will soon be sunset. A new upgraded version of this integration has been released and is available to you. This guide aims to cover everything you need to do in 6 easy steps.
1
Why should I upgrade? The existing integration between Yotpo Loyalty and Dotdigital has not been improved for some time and uses older versions of the Dotdigital API. Our newly released version of this integration is developed by Dotdigital meaning: Yotpo Loyalty have released a new version of their Referrals Module. The old integration does not support these referral events, but our new integration supports both the old and new referral events. To take advantage of Yotpo’s new Referral Module and Dotdigital together, you will need to upgrade to the new integration. • We have added enhancements to support newer features - like Yotpo’s new referral module - and sync even more data into Dotdigital than ever before • It uses our latest APIs and all the functionality they facilitate • We have full control & visibility to support our customers if they have issues syncing data
Key information • The same Yotpo Store cannot be connected to Dotdigital more than once • Multiple Yotpo stores can be connected to the same Dotdigital account. In this scenario, we recommend mapping to different data fields so that data is not overwritten • If both the old and new Yotpo Loyalty integrations are installed at the same time, you should ensure that campaigns/programs are not mapped in both or this will trigger duplicate sends
The old Yotpo Loyalty integration will be sunset by Yotpo on 30th June 2026 so we recommend these migration steps are taken before then.

Steps to migrate 1. Install the Dotdigital and Yotpo Loyalty integration There is no problem with having both integrations installed at the same time, so we recommend a period of parallel running or a testing phase in a sandbox account. The integration will either create all of the following data fields automatically or you are able to individually select the data points you would like to sync into Dotdigital and map them to your own bespoke data fields. During the period of parallel running, there will be a period of duplicate data syncing into Dotdigital. If you are worried about hitting the data field limit, please reach out to your CSM before installing the new integration.

2. Check your segments
Go through the segments in your account to see if any of them are using the old Yotpo data fields. If they are, these will need to be updated to the new data fields as per the mapping table on page 4. If these Segments are in active use, it may be safest to copy the segment. The changes can then be made to the copy of the segment. When you are ready, you can then switch from the original segment to the updated copy with the latest data fields. More guidance on this can be found here . This does not need to be done in one sitting. You can use the period of parallel running to slowly work through your segments. Alternatively, you can map the Dotdigital integration to the existing data fields from the old Yotpo version of the integration to avoid making any changes. 3. Check your campaigns Go through the campaigns in your account to see if any of them are using the old Yotpo data fields. If they are, these will need to be updated to the new data fields as per the mapping table on page 4. If these Campaigns are active, we recommend first copying the campaign. The changes can then be made to the copy of the campaign without impacting live sends. When you are ready, you can then deactivate the old campaign and use the copy with the latest data fields. More guidance on this can be found here .
Once the campaign is using the new fields, ensure it is unmapped on the Yotpo side and mapped as part of the new Dotdigital integration.
This does not need to be done in one sitting. You can use the period of parallel running to slowly work through your segments. Alternatively, you can map the Dotdigital integration to the existing data fields from the old Yotpo version of the integration to avoid making any changes. IMPORTANT : If this campaign is mapped to an event trigger, you will need to ensure it is unmapped on the Yotpo side, and remapped via the Dotdigital integration or this will trigger duplicate sends.

4. Check your programs
Go through the programs in your account to see if any of them are using the old Yotpo data fields. If they are, these will need to be updated to the new data fields as per the table on page 4. If these Programs are active, we recommend first copying the program. The changes can then be made to the copy of the program without impacting live sends. When you are ready, you can then deactivate the old program and use the copy with the latest data fields. More guidance on this can be found here .
Once the program is using the new fields, ensure it is unmapped on the Yotpo Side and mapped as part of the new Dotdigital integration.

6. Delete the old data fields
5. Uninstall the old integration
Once the old integration is uninstalled, you will be able to finalize this by cleaning up the contact data fields that the old integration created because they will no longer be used or updated with new data. If you have opted to map to these existing fields or would prefer to keep these in your account, then that is also acceptable and will have no impact on the new integration.
Once you have checked everything is using the new data fields and you have swapped your campaign and program mapping from the old integration to the new integration, then you will be able to uninstall the old Yotpo Loyalty integration. We would recommend a small period of parallel running.
This uninstallation can be done from within Yotpo admin.
Guidance on how to do this can be found here .
Important: The old integration will be displayed as “dotdigital” whereas the new one will be displayed as “Dotdigital for Yotpo Loyalty”. Please ensure it is the “dotdigital” integration as shown above that is removed.
If you have any questions or concerns on upgrading to the new version of the Yotpo Loyalty integration, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager at either Dotdigital or Yotpo.
